Acme - a superb Seabrook dessert that should be given greater recognition.

Raised by Seabrook in Essex in 1944 from a seedling (Worcester Pearmain/Rival = Flame 2716 with Cox). Possessing a rich and intense flavour combined with a crisp and juicy texture. Initially slightly tart although this reduces after a week in storage. Scab resistant with excellent levels of cropping but should be thinned to stall a biennial tendancy. Pollination group 3.
