A heritage variety from Gloucester (1700s). A sweet, medium sized, golden brown skinned apple with a superb, rare, complex flavour praised by connoisseurs. It is regarded as one of the best late eating apples and is highly valued for juicing. Resistant to scab, mildew and cedar apple rust. Pollination group 4. RHS Award of Merit 1969
