First documented in 1824 although discovered near Nottingham as a seedling in the 17th century by Bess Pool. This is an aromatic, juicy and sweet variety that can be stained red beneath the skin. Said to be exceptional with cheese this fruit can also be served as an excellent cooker. Late to flower as pollination group 5.
