Sawpit - a cider sharp from Devon

Yorkshire Apples

Discovered by Peter Lock in Landrake near Buckfastleigh Abbey, Devon in 1800s and then rediscovered in a sawpit in Cornwall in 1900s. This spur bearer is resistant to canker and is a sharp variety praised by enthusiasts for its value in cider blends.  Fruits can be stored through till the following Spring. Pollination group 3.
