Known since 1740 in Oxfordshire as Kempster's Pippin. A very hardy variety with a sweet, nutty, crumbly texture with excellent aromatic flavour. As it is resistant to mildew and scab it has potential in organic culture. At it's best around Christmas. A triploid. Pollination group 4.
