Blenheim Orange - disease resistant, aromatic and sweet.
Yorkshire Apples
Known since 1740 in Oxfordshire as Kempster's Pippin. A very hardy variety with a sweet, distinctive, nutty, crumbly texture with excellent aromatic flavour. Notably it does not discolour quickly when cut. As it is resistant to mildew and scab it has potential in organic culture. At it's best around Christmas. A triploid that interestingly comes fairly true from seed. Said to be a parent to Annie Elizabeth and Howgate Wonder. Pollination group 4.
