Discovered in Hampshire (1848) this variety was a Victorian and Edwardian favourite. A heavily russetted variety with notable characteristics of hardiness and disease resistance. The fruits are intensely sweet and juicy with some describing a pear drop flavour and others finding a degee of nuttiness. Self Fertile. Pollination Group 3.
