Captain Broad - a rare Cornish Bittersweet.
Yorkshire Apples
Aka Small's Admirable. A rare cornish, early bittersweet, heritage cider apple with a huge reputation as one of the best old varieties. It was once grown (1850s) extensively around Fowey and later in the Tamar Valley. It is a "pitcher" meaning it will readily root from burr knots. This is a hardy, heavy cropping tree that offers complex, occasionally honeyed aromas. Pollination group 2.
