Chantecler - a fantastic French dessert apple.

Aka Belchard. Grown commericially in France - released by INRA in 1977 as a cross between Golden Delicious and Reinette Clochard.  Under a yellow/green skin the flesh is firm, cream coloured, crisp and juicy at harvest, becoming melting and aromatic in storage. Very sweet, slightly tart and well flavoured.
