Developed in Geneva Research Station (USA) 1898 with Red McIntosh as a parent this hardy variety offers sweet, fine grained flesh with an interesting balance of flavour with a vinous attribute. Grown commercially in the USA. although best for drier areas of the UK. It is partially self fertile although it would benefit from another pollinator. Resistant to scab and canker. Pollination group 3.
