Yorkshire Apples
Raised in Herefordshire from Orange Pippin and Golden Pippin and named after Downton Castle in Shropshire. First exhibited in 1860. This rare, heavy cropping heritage variety with medium sized fruit and yellow-gold skin offers intriguing fruit that is creamy, sweet, crisp and juicy. A dessert variety that cooks well that also was once used for cider (with a SG of 1080).
