A famous and possibly an ancient russet apple regarded by some as the most delicious dessert apple. Hogg (1851) describes it such as well as a hardy and an excellent bearer that will keep till June. As a remarkable cider variety it is known as the Brandy Apple for its rich flavour and high SG at 10.85. For enthusiasts this is a "must have" variety. Pollination Group 4.
