Binet Rouge - (thin) a famous vintage variety from Normandy
Yorkshire Apples
A very old and distinguished vintage cider variety from northern Normandy (pre 1873) with a quality that can be used as a official component in the production of Calvados. While it tolerates frosts it does not flourish in areas of high drying winds. Renowned as a huge pollen producer this important variety needs to be managed to avoid a tendency towards biennial production. Ranked as a high-quality, vintage cider apple. Presses out to a light amber must. Resistant to canker. Pollination group 5.
