A rare, very hardy bittersweet fruit that was only found in the famous orchard of Mr. Fontaine in Fontaine-lès-Vervins in northern France. A sweet, slightly bitter, aromatic, high quality, early-ripening variety with low susceptibility to disease. A useful variety for organic production. Pollination group 5.
