Raised by the Agricultural Research Station in Ohio in 1944 as an interesting cross between Jonathan and Red Delicious. A carmine red skin over sweet/tart creamy white flesh purposed with aromatic flavour. Used as a cider variety in the USA. Pollination group 3.
