Pendragon - a fabulous and rare red fleshed apple from Cornwall.
Yorkshire Apples
Discovered as a single tree in the 1980s by james Evans and Mary Martin this deeply pigmented Cornish red fleshed apple is thought to be a seedling of Niedzwetzkyana brought to Britain in 1894 and is said to have the highest vitamin C content of any apple. Bearing fabulous blosson the fruit is marginally sweet although mixed with other varieties it can create very interesting juice. Fruits will start to fall in August but it is worth knowing that sweetness does develop the longer the fruit is left on the tree. Pollination group 1.
