Reinette Rouge Etoilee - a famous French dessert apple.

Aka Red Calville. A famous dessert apple grown widely in the NE of France. First mentioned in 1830 in the Netherlands and thought to be from a chance seedling. It is late flowering and generally hardy avoiding damaging frosts. The fruit is brilliantred and speckled with golden-white star shaped dots (etoilee). The flesh is very juicy, pleasantly fragrant with hints of raspberry. Pollination Group 5.
