Ribston Pippin - a famous variety with wonderful characteristics.

Yorkshire Apples

Raised in 1707 from a pip brought to Ribston Hall in Yorkshire by Sir Henry Goodricke from Rouen and later said to be the female parent of Cox's Orange Pippin. Ready in early October, the fruits are juicy with a rich aromatic flavour that are slightly tart straight off the tree. They develop sweetness when stored (but not for too long). Best grown in drier soil - resistant to scab. Pollination group 3.
