Roquet Rouge - a rare sweet variety local to the Calais region.

A rare sweet/bittersweet variety local only to the Calais region of northern France that was first mentioned in1884 although it all but died out it being later rescued from a single tree. This is a vigorous producer and is described as delivering high density juice during late pressings November-January.
