Of unknown origin but first recorded in Middlesex (1831). This rough looking, partially russetted apple offers good sweet/sharp flavour that is similar yet more aromatic than Ashmeads Kernal. It's disease resistance is good and it is favoured by many for its juice. Pollination Group 3.
